Heart Beet



  • 1/4 cup raw beet root (washed, peeled)

  • 1/2 cup blueberries

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 small banana

  • 1/2 cup almond milk

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1 tsp flax seeds


If you're aiming to create a similar whimsical effect for serving presentation, you'll have to blend the smoothie in 2 parts, which will give you a dark and light colored layer. First slice the beets, press them over a glass cup and set it aside. In a blender, combine first three ingredients--beets, blueberries and water--pour this into the glass. Using the same blender, mix next three ingredients--pineapple, banana and almond milk--again pour this into the glass. This method of blending the smoothie in 2 parts will help you re-create the way this smoothie is pictured but if you're just in a need of a quick smoothie, simply combine all ingredients at once. That's it!
